CABIN & COTTAGE RENTALS
There are Camping Cabins, and there are cabins sometimes called Kamping Kabins. They should not be confused with what is referred to as a cabin or full cabin. A full cabin is usually larger, has a kitchen bathroom and may have several rooms, the original get away. The camping cabin concept originated with the KOA several years ago, and has been expanded upon and varied according to area and user demand. They fill a void for camping between tenting and a full cabin, but are located in campgrounds, usually on a regular site with water and electric. The users are as varied as are the cabins: sportsmen whose family isn't into roughing it, tenters who want something better, folks who want to try out camping but don't know if the life is really for them, or those who don't have the room to store tenting gear or any of the other camping devices, such as pop top's, trailer's or RV's.
The cabins at Deer River Campsite are not the typical Camping Cabin found elsewhere. After looking at cabins in other campgrounds, we self designed and constructed our cabins to be both functional and serviceable. Three cabins are 12' x 16' and have 4' front porches with chairs and small tables. They have metal roofs and are fully insulated to be cool and prevent radiational heating in the summer, but warm during the cooler nights of spring and fall. A combination ceiling fan and light also provide for comfort. They come equipped with a double bed, dresser, table & chairs, a "dorm type" refrigerator in a corner-shelved area, a clothing rack, a four cup coffee maker, and a microwave. A set of stairs lead to a loft that has two single mattresses. These cabins accommodate a family of four, two adults and up to two youths. Cabins are on sites that have water and electric. No smoking or cooking is allowed in the cabins, however, a charcoal hibachi and a fire pit are provided for cooking as well as a picnic table.
Two cabins are slightly larger at 12' x 20', and have all of the same features as the other three except a larger floor area, table, and the loft is larger, with two double mattresses, and a larger refrigerator. This cabin is designed for a family of two adults and up to four youths. In 2007 the cabins were retrofitted with bathrooms (no showers), however none are located far from the main restrooms and showers.
Campers need to bring all other bedding and supplies normally used on a camping trip.
Sorry no animals allowed in cabins
